DMU recognises from an academic standpoint, no resource is as important as the human resource. They support 120 children in the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad, India; providing them with food, shelter, medical supplies, sports equipment, school uniforms, extra education and much more. DMU has recently started working with 5 local community centres, of which the ‘Loving Community’ is one.
I am Sheetal Parmar; a DMU alumni. Together, we are helping rebuild the homes of the local community in Ahmedabad to raise them above the flood levels, that hit them each year throughout the torrential rainfall during monsoon. In December, I will be heading off to Ahmedabad to join forces with DMU, alongside current DMU students to volunteer together and make a difference. As part of the Loving Community Project, working with Manav Sadhna we will have the chance to engage in a life-changing project and see the positive impact Square Mile India has on local residents. After all, there is no place like home.
I will be volunteering with the Loving Community, the Gandhi Ashram, contributing to a conference and participating in volunteering workshops.
Whilst we are currently raising funds through various means to support this great cause, we need your support to make our efforts go even further! I’m asking for your help by donating any amount to help us achieve our mission. Your donation can help us deliver a better future.
Thank you in advance for your support.
